Hello This a technical question concerning the old HAMS100 application. Hope you can solve this for me. This was installed in a desktop computer and worked well for many years. However this computer is now defunct and I have installed HAMs 100 on a laptop computer (Windows 11). Before installing HAMS100 I connected the laptop computer to the card encoder via a seriel to USB connector and powered it up. After installation I opened the program and tried to make a room door key card. This appeared to proceed correctly the key card did not work. I tried this several times on different room numbers but all failed to work The Local configuration settings :- Editer – set to Serial COM set to COM 3 PPD – set to Serial COM set to COM 3 Only one COM port available - I expected two – one for Editor and one for PPD. I don’t what I have I done wrong but I need the program to work as a matter of urgency. Device Manager Driver – Prolific USB to Serial Comm Port (COM 3). Any assistance you can give will gratefully accepted. Regards John Winney

It seems like the issue may be with the configuration settings for the HAMs100 application on the laptop.
Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
Check if the serial to USB connector is working properly.
Make sure the COM port settings in the application match the port number assigned by the computer.
Try reinstalling the driver for the Prolific USB to Serial Comm Port.
If the issue persists, you may need to contact the support team for the HAMs100 application for further assistance.
